Camp Kesem


Camp Kesem, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a FREE one-week camp for children whose parents have cancer. Camp Kesem is planned and organized by students at the University of Michigan. At Camp Kesem, campers have the unique opportunity to build friendships and gain strength from peers facing similar challenges. Camp Kesem is open to all children in southeastern Michigan 6-18 years of age regardless of race, religion, or financial status.

Although Camp Kesem is student run, it is staffed with a registered nurse and a mental health professional (MHP). The national standards for our MHP is a master’s degree or higher in psychological counseling or social work.
