Elderly Eviction Prevention Program

The Elderly Eviction Prevention Program, a program of the Housing Bureau for Seniors, takes a pro-active approach to preventing homelessness. By intervening when eviction is threatened, the program has been able to keep a number of senior citizens in their apartments. Sometimes the program becomes aware of a potential eviction through an anonymous tip, a landlord, the person facing the eviction, or a family member.

By coordinating with other resource agencies like Community Mental Health, Adult Protective Services, and Neighborhood Senior Services, the Elderly Eviction Prevention Program strives to help clients avoid eviction and remain in their homes.
