Elementary Engineering Exploration Day (EEE Day)

Description

Objectives:
A)To introduce girls in elementary aged girls, directed toward grades 4-5, to many different types of engineering through various hands on projects.
B)To give young girls a positive and exciting experience related to engineering.
C)To give girls the opportunity to see and explore a college campus.
D)To expand the involvement of other societies in Society of Women Engineers events.

Held annually in the spring on the University of Michigan’s North Campus in Ann Arbor; for 4th and 5th grade girls in the Detroit metropolitan and Ann Arbor areas.

The program consists of fun and challenging hands-on design projects for girls, a guest speaker for parents, a tour of the University of Michigan’s North Campus, and time to eat lunch and mingle with female engineers.
