German Summer Language Institute (German SLI)

The courses offered by the Department of Germanic Languages through the Summer Language Institute include Intensive First and Second Year German, Intermediate German and Advanced German. The courses are proficiency-oriented and aim to develop the four basic language skills: speaking, reading, writing, and oral comprehension.

Each course is designed to teach language within a cultural and social context, in part through extracurricular programs of lectures, films, language tables, and excursions. The courses are open to all undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, practicing professionals, and high school seniors from within the entire state of Michigan.
