Health Management Research Center (HMRC)

Description

The Health Management Research Center is one of the nation’s leading research facilities studying the link between employee health behaviors, productivity, absenteeism, job turnover and health care costs.

Established in 1976, the Center has collected survey data on the health and lifestyle behaviors of over 2 million individuals and consulted with over 1,000 organizations. By tracking the relationship between lifestyle behaviors and other variables and using the health care system, the HMRC helps organizations project future health care costs. The Center’s main focus is to forge long-term partnerships with organizations, helping them implement creative worksite wellness programs, and evaluating their effectiveness.

Working with such clients as UAW-GM, Steelcase, Xerox, Detroit Deisel, Genesys Health System the Center assists employers, employees and their families, insurers and health providers to work together to promote health and vitality.
