Matthaei Botanical Gardens Guided School & Youth and Family Programs


Guided school programs enhance Michigan Science curriculum for plant science and ecology through hands on experience in our conservatory and on trails.
Saturday and Thursday Scout/youth evening programs titles include;Exploration nature, Forester and Naturalist, Sketchbook detectives, Wonders of Winter, Butterfly gardens. Topics include; ecology, plant parts and functions, sustainability for kids, adaptations, edible gardening and more.
Self guided materials are available for teachers who prefer to visit the Gardens on their own.
Adventure backpacks available for checkout by youth and families.
Guided Tours can be scheduled for adult groups.
