Metabolic Fitness Program (MFP)

Metabolic Syndrome, a collection of health risks such as obesity, high blood pressure, high fasting sugar, and high cholesterol, increases the chance of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and diabetes. One health risk factor increases the risk for developing others; and the more risk factors increases the disease risk.

This syndrome can be reduced or eliminated with positive lifestyle changes. UMHS Cardiovascular Medicine at Dominos Farms has developed the physician-referred Metabolic Fitness Program (MFP) to address these health risks. This is a 24-week multi-disciplinary program that includes education on nutrition, exercise, stress management, tools for emotional eating, strategies for changing lifestyle habits, and clinically-supervised exercise. New patients start each month.
