U-M Museum of Natural History (UMMNH)


The Museum of Natural History presents exhibits on prehistoric life (including the largest collection of dinosaurs in Michigan), Michigan wildlife, anthropology, geology, and astronomy in addition to seasonally changing planetarium shows. Educational programs include guided tours, Discovery Days, exhibit openings, lectures, and special events. Over 100,000 people visit the Museum annually, including more than 28,000 school children in groups.

Museum hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free for individuals and families; modest group rates apply.
