Oboe Institute

MPulse is a summer performing arts institute at the University of Michigan on the Ann Arbor campus carrying high school students to exciting new levels of excellence in music performance, music technology, musical theatre, theatre, and dance. The University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance is excited to announce its 2013 MPulse summer sessions for high school students. Approximately 200 MPulse participants study with distinguished UM School of Music, Theatre & Dance faculty for two or three weeks each summer while experiencing campus life in Ann Arbor.

Focused on individual instruction for serious high school oboists, the Oboe Institute provides an intensive two weeks designed to enhance technical and musical skills. Instruction covers reed making, performance skills in individual and group lessons, and practice time, as well as chamber music collaborations with other MPulse sessions and musicianship classes.
