Portfolio Prep

Pre-College Summer Studio for grades 9-11

Portfolio Prep is a two-week residential studio for current high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Students in this program will explore a breadth of techniques and media used by practicing artists and designers. Students live on the historic UM campus and work in studios under the direction of faculty and staff. Students enhance their studio experience through day trips to local museums to learn about classical and contemporary works of art and design.

Students will learn how to create, select, and best present their work for a competitive portfolio. Participants will learn about the college admission process, career choices in the visual arts and design, and the advantages of earning an art & design degree at a world-class university.
