Prison Creative Arts Project

Description

Founded in 1990, the Prison Creative Arts Project is committed to original work in the arts in Michigan correctional facilities and juvenile detention centers. We open creative spaces where they don’t exist and collaborate with incarcerated youth and adults and with urban youth prepare performances and exhibitions. Our Annual Exhibition of Art by Michigan Prisoners, now in its 12th year, is our major presentation to the public; because of this exhibition, there is an outpouring of artistic activity in Michigan prisons.

We are happy to provide more information about our work, and we offer our services as consultants or workshop trainers, at a modest fee.
