Ready, Set, Go Blue!

The pilot program for Ready, Set, Go Blue! partnered with one local
elementary school to serve each of its 3rd grade classes. The program consisted of a series of 3 fun, engaging, and informative workshops that were approximately 45 minutes in length, offered once a week, facilitated by program staff, and took place in the classroom at the partner school. Included in the workshops were educational games, activities and discussions about various
topics related to the lessons. A final, 4th workshop consisted of a field trip to visit the U-M campus, which included a tour of buildings, museums, libraries and labs, as well as meeting with U-M faculty members. A college readiness workbook was created for students and their families and the program provided information on summer programs for older family members. Most importantly, Ready, Set, Go Blue! is committed to working with teachers to create developmentally appropriate curriculum that will create a college-going atmosphere within the school that is fun and educationally meaningful to them.
