The Semester in Detroit mission is to engage U-M undergraduates in substantive, sustained and reciprocal relationships with the people and communities of the City of Detroit. Combining a semester-long residence in the city with rigorous academic study and a comprehensive community-based internship (100-200 hours), SiD students become deeply involved in and committed to the life, challenges, and promise of this important American city.
Semester in Detroit currently runs every fall and spring semester during which up to 25 students make the city of Detroit their temporary home. We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2015 semester.
