The function of The UM Technology Transfer Office at the University of Michigan is to effectively and efficiently transfer commercially promising, University developed intellectual property (inventions) to the private sector. This is achieved by faculty education, evaluation of inventions for transfer, filing for patent protection, and marketing of technologies to potential licensees. The office also engages in proactive facilitation of start-up companies based on UM technologies. This includes assistance in business planning, and the recruitment of management and venture financing. The office maintains lists of all technologies developed at the University that are available for licensing. Summaries of these technologies are available from our web page. Catalogues are available from our home page (listed below), on disks and as hard-copy.
