University of Michigan Aphasia Program (UMAP)

The University Center for Language and Literacy first started its aphasia treatment program in 1947, offering speech and language therapy for veterans returning from World War II. For over 60 years, adults with language disorders resulting from stroke, brain injury, or brain tumor have come from around the globe to receive the highly individualized and intensive therapy offered at UMAP. Our dynamic speech and language therapy program consists of 30 hours of intensive intervention per week.
