University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center

Description

The University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center’s public Web site provides access to extensive cancer diagnosis, treatment, prevention and research information to patients, family members and the public. The site offers information about rare cancers, such as merkel cell carcinoma and adrenal cancer; as well as explanations of new treatment options, such as robotic and organ-sparing surgery. In addition, there is a section of the site dedicated to patient support services, which include the Symptom Management & Supportive Care, Complementary Therapies, and PsychOncology Programs. The Cancer Center’s patient magazine, Thrive, is also published online, offering articles focused on living with cancer.

The Cancer Center’s Web site also offers access to mCancerTalk, our interactive blog; as well as our Facebook and YouTube sites. These social media avenues create an online community of cancer patients, survivors and those who care about them. There is also an events calendar, which highlights the ongoing series of community outreach events: the Men’s Fellowship Breakfast and Hats and High Tea; as well as other events featuring Cancer Center experts.
