University of Michigan Outdoor Adventures

Description

Mission:
Outfitting the University of Michigan and greater Ann Arbor community, Outdoor Adventures provides educational and recreational opportunities that foster leadership development and environmental stewardship through services and programs.

Trip Program:
We offer unique opportunities to the University of Michigan students, faculty, staff, and the local community. Our trips are designed to provide a balance of challenging, educational, and fun activities in a wilderness setting. Or, we can customize a trip for you!

M-Rock Climbing Wall:
M-Rock has over 60 set bouldering and top-roping routes on its 20 foot high wall and is located in the Intramural Sports Building (606 E. Hoover Ave. Ann Arbor, MI 48109-3717). Visit for an open climb for only $5 per visit or rent the wall for a group occasion. M-Rock also offers many sessions of two introduction climbing classes year round. Call 734-764-ROCK for more details.

Michigan Outdoor Leadership Semester:
Open to everyone, MOLS clinics provide participants with the opportunity to learn wilderness skills and gain confidence in leadership situations. Each clinic teaches the fundamentals of Leave No Trace travel and camping skills, technical outdoor skills, and offers the experience to receive instruction in a hands-on workshop setting. These clinics are designed to be an introduction to outdoor skills for those wishing to gain experience in outdoor recreation.

Wilderness Medicine:
Do you enjoy spending time in the backcountry?
Do you know what to do if you are not able to call 911?
What if you or a friend was injured miles away from care?
You might consider taking a wilderness medicine course from Outdoor Adventures. You will learn how to handle these situations and more! Outdoor Adventures is pleased to host Wilderness Medicine Training Center courses, the Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder.

Banff Mountain Film Festival:
Every year in April, at the Michigan Theater

The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings films from the annual Banff Mountain Film Festival to about 285 communities around the world. From an exploration of remote landscapes and mountain cultures to adrenaline-fueled action sports, films in this years world tour are sure to captivate and amaze the explorer within you. Be moved.
