This is a collaborative undertaking among the University of Michigan School of Social Work, Western Michigan University School of Social Work, the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office. Based upon analysis of the court file data the researchers have determined factors that predict successful criminal prosecution of sexual abuse cases. Presently the researchers are engaged in a qualitative study of the county’s professionals to better understand WHY they have been successful at criminal prosecution of child sexual abuse.
